"In the February 2017 Watchtower, page 26, paragraph 12, the Governing Body confesses that it is neither inspired nor infallible and can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. If any other J.W. admitted such serious failings, they would be subjected to an investigation and subsequent punishment by a judicial committee - in order to maintain the unity and spiritual cleanliness of the congregation. Why is the Governing Body above the laws they force on others?"

If You Could Ask the GB Or One Of Its Members...
by Cold Steel in...one question about anything and get a straight answer, what would it be?

Why Did JWs Abandon Brooklyn for the Sticks?
by Room 215 ini may have missed this, but can anyone tell me what was the pretext the gb concocted to justify their abandonment of a perfectly suitable, high-profile, high-visibility complex in what is arguably the world's greatest metropolis for the bucolic isolation of upstate new york.
any how does the move square with their purported belief in the imminence of armageddon?

Every time J.W.'s receive "news" from the org, they should ask themselves this question -
"Is this direction/decision motivated by cash?"
If they're honest, they'll admit that the constant acquisition & requests for money have become like a needle stuck on the record.
For those J.W.'s who disagree, wait until your K.H. or a nearby one is sold off, then ask 'Why?'

Mrs. Searcher asked me yesterday why we're not hearing from ex/J.W.'s on this site how the congregations in Australian have reacted to the A.R.C.
Is there a lot of murmuring/upset at what was revealed publicly? Be interesting to hear.

To all elders, some probing questions on assault by a member by another member.
by FatFreek 2005 inthe title should have read, "assault by a member toward another member".
(unfortunately, i couldn't find a way to edit the title).
you happen to be driving by what looks to be your own empty kingdom hall and something doesn't look quite right.

I promise that this is the truth:
While having a cup of tea and a chat with an elder and his wife at their home, (former congregation) I asked him point-blank, "If a brother telephoned you tonight and told you that he'd just stabbed someone to death, would you 'phone Bethel for advice or call the police?"
His reply: "It would depend if it was another Witness he'd killed!"
Elders become a different species when they receive their "glorious" title.

WTBTS' corrupt translation - to elevate elders!

The WT March 2017, p.11, par. 13 quotes Ephesians 4:8 as saying, "The Bible refers to them as 'gifts in men.'"
However, the org's own Kingdom Interlinear Translation (and every other Bible translation) gives a truthful translation of the verse:
K.I.T. = "Through which he is saying.......................and he gave gifts to the men."
These couldn't be the gifts which Paul spoke about at 1 Corinthians chapter 12, could they? :)
I honestly wonder how many J.W.'s look at their elders and regard them as "gifts."
Pity that Witnesses don't use their K.I.T. to verify what the RNWT says!

JWs kinda admit to not being Christian
by NikL induring the book study which is basically a book all about the history of "gods organization" ©.
a paragraph that hit me like a ton of the proverbial bricks was this.... 9 first, jehovah’s servants came to have the proper view of the importance of god’s name.
faithful early bible students viewed the ransom arrangement as the bible’s main teaching.

According to Revelation 3:14, God already has a "faithful & true witness" - he doesn't need any more!
However, the scriptures instructed Christians who they were to witness for:
Matthew 10:18 - ".....for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.
Mark 13:9 - "......before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them."
Luke 24: 47,48 - "....and on the basis of his [Jesus'] name....You are to be witnesses....."
John 1:15 - "John bore witness about him..." [JESUS]
John 5:37 - "the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me."
John 8:18 - "the Father who sent me bears witness about me."
John 15:26,27 - "the spirit will bear witness about me; and YOU in turn, are to bear witness."
Acts 1:8 - "You [11 faithful apostles] will be witnesses of me...."
Acts 4:17,18 - ...upon the basis of this (Jesus') name .... upon the basis of the name of Jesus.
Acts 10:39 - "And we are witnesses of all the things he [Jesus] did..."
Acts 10:43 - "To him [Jesus] all the prophets bear witness....."
Acts 13:31 - "who are now his (Jesus') witnesses to the people.
Acts 22:15 - "because you are to be a witness for him [Jesus] to all men......"
Acts 22:20 - "......the blood of Stephen your [Jesus'] witness was being spilled..."
Acts 23:11 - "..... a thorough witness on the things about me in Jerusalem..."
Acts 26:16 -"I [Jesus]..choose you as an attendant and a witness respecting me"
Romans 8:16 - "The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit..."
1 Corinthians 1:6 - "even as the witness about the Christ..........."
1 Timothy. 2:6 - "......what is to be witnessed to at its own particular times."
2 Timothy 1:8 - "............of the witness about our Lord.. [Christ]"
1 John 5:9 - "the witness God gives...the fact that he has borne witness concerning his Son."
Revelation 1:9 - "....for speaking about God and bearing witness to Jesus."
Revelation 12:17 - ".......and have the work of bearing witness to Jesus."
Revelation 17:6 - "........and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus."
Revelation 19:10 -".....the work of witnessing to Jesus.... bearing witness to Jesus."
Revelation 20:4 - "............ for the witness they bore to Jesus."

Wills - A disgruntled father making a final point
by Listener inan unusual and amusing will was contested in an australian court a few years ago.the deceased man separated from his wife in 1959 and shortly after the wife was baptized as a jw.
in the following years their four children also got baptized.
apparently this enraged the deceased for the remainder of his life, who was himself a catholic.his will included two conditions that his four children were required to fulfill before they would qualify to receive their share of the inheritance.

"All of your questions could be answered if you put Jehovah to the test" - but not if you put the organization to the test!
That's now the unforgiveable sin in many J.W.'s eyes. (1st Peter 3:15 is now a no-no for the r&f)

@ prologos - as the scripture shows, Babylon the great is the mother of the so-called harlots - not the complete entity! (Rev. 17:5) Logically, BTG represents the worst and most influential of all these "harlots", and her ultimate demise apparently brings the other "harlots" to their end as well.
Doesn't solve the riddle of who BTG actually is though!
